Before it is pulled down, any memories of the art deco cinema in its heyday? or knowledge of any Dawsons who may be of the family who produced the architect and local surveyors and contractors for Shipley and Windhill?

I'm not totally sure of my facts, but here goes.
The architect was Ernest Dawson. He died in 1969. He still has family living in Ashfield Avenue (Frizinghall), where he lived for over 30 years, and built at least three houses. His grandson, Richard, is also an architect. You might be able to Google him.

brillaint! thank you. I have spent many hours looking for him.
I thought he had moved to Manchester. I have all the records of the rest of his family who are buried at Windhill. I will report back. Crimson...
